PFENOLOGY OF THE GREAT TIT (PARUS MAJOR) IN BIROBIDZHAN (JEWISH AUTONOMOUS REGION)

L.V. Kapitonova

Аннотация

The author reveals phenological parameters of the Great Tit in Birobidzhan (Jewish Autonomous region) and shows the dates for the first, mass, and early morning singing of males; the period of courtship and competition for females, laying eggs and incubation of full clutches; the appearance of chicks and fledglings, migrations, late broods and autumn singing. In the period from the end of December to the third decade of March, there occurs a distribution of birds over nesting territories and formation of pairs. The period of early morning singing of males, from the third decade of March to the third decade of June, is the height of the breeding season.
